This family owned shop in Highlands Ranch, Colorado repairs American and Asian cars in eight bays, from oil changes and brakes to engines and transmissions.

We took over its Google Ads in August 2026. Here's what we changed, and why we changed it.

A Landing Page for Each Ad Group

When we started, the account had 11 campaigns and only one was running. Inside it, 96% of the impressions went to one general auto repair ad group, and every click landed on the homepage. On a phone, you had to scroll all the way to the footer to find a phone number you could read.

So we paused every ad group but one and built a page for each service before turning its ads back on, ten pages in all through September. Every ad now names the service the person searched for and shows the shop's 4.9 Google rating, and the sitelinks under the ads go to these pages instead of pages with no form.

The Landing Page Hero

Each page opens with the service and the town, like Oil Change in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, so someone who searched for an oil change lands on an oil change. Above the H1 sit the shop's 4.9 Google rating and an ASE Certified badge, and the background is a photo of the actual shop.

Under the H1 is one call button. The first version also had call buttons on every service card and coupon, and the client told us that was too many, so those came off.

What's Below the Hero

Below the hero come the shop's own specials, only the ones that fit that service, then what every oil change includes and how the work gets done. Every page also introduces the owner and the shop manager with their real photos, so people see who they're dealing with before they book.

The reviews sit right before the quote form, so the last thing someone reads before booking is what other drivers said. We also put a short FAQ back on each page, because a fuller page helps how Google rates the landing page, and that rating affects what each click costs.

The Mobile Layout

Most of these clicks come from phones. In October, 61 of the 74 ad clicks came from phones.

So on a phone, a bar stays at the bottom of the screen the whole way down the page, with Get a Quote on the left and Call Now on the right. Nobody has to scroll back up to find a way to reach the shop.

Call Tracking and the Quote Form

Before this, nobody could see whether the ads were bringing in calls, or whether the shop was picking up. The landing pages now carry a call tracking number, so every call from an ad shows up with how long it lasted and whether it was answered. In October, the shop answered 41 of the 43 calls the tracking picked up from every source, and on the other 2 the caller hung up first.

The quote form asks for the car's make, model and year, so the shop can call back with a time and a price, and a map with the shop's address and hours sits right beside it. Every form that gets sent is counted.

October Results

  • Calls and forms from the ads: 21 in October, 18 calls and 3 forms
  • Conversion rate: 28%, from 21 calls and forms on 74 ad clicks
  • Through the oil change page: 16 of the 21 calls and forms

The landing pages went live one by one through September, so October was the first full month with all of them running. The oil change page did the most work, with 16 of the 21 calls and forms coming through it, mostly from people searching “oil change near me” and “oil change highlands ranch.” Counting the 3 calls that came straight from the ad's own call button, the ads produced 24 calls and forms in October, about $83 each.
